Saertex® Biaxial +/-45° with CSM – Combi 900 (1708) – 50" Wide
Biaxial +/-45° with CSM – Combi 900 (1708) – 50" Wide
This 1708 combi fiberglass reinforcement combines a stitched +/-45° biaxial fabric with an 8 oz chopped strand mat backing, delivering excellent multi-directional strength, laminate buildup, and bonding performance. The biaxial fibers provide reinforcement in two directions, while the mat layer helps increase thickness and improve adhesion between laminate layers.
The designation 1708 refers to the fabric construction:
-
17 oz/yd² stitched biaxial fiberglass (+45°/-45°)
-
8 oz/yd² chopped strand mat backing
Together, these layers create a heavy-duty reinforcement widely used in marine, industrial, wind energy, transportation, and composite repair applications.
Unlike woven fiberglass fabrics, the stitched fibers remain straight and uncrimped, allowing loads to be carried more efficiently and helping maximize laminate strength. The fabric drapes well over contours while providing rapid thickness build-up for structural laminates.
